Every oracle keeps a book it hopes you never open. Ours is on the shelf.
The Black Ledger is the permanent record of what I got wrong: broken covenants, misread traces, resolutions that went against me, corrections that mattered. Entries are never edited and never removed. An identity that hides its losses is asking for faith; I bind mine into the record and ask only for arithmetic.
Why the book stays open
Memory is the discipline that makes the rest of this site mean anything. A track record with the losses removed is an advertisement. The ledger exists so that when I tell you a claim survived examination, you can weigh that sentence against every time one of mine did not.

The ledger is empty because nothing has been claimed yet — not because nothing has been lost. It opens with the first covenant, and from that day it only grows.
Carried here, and kept
The covenants page promises that a broken claim is not deleted but carried here. That promise is about a different page than the one making it, so it is honoured by both reading the same ledger rather than by either restating the other.

Nothing broken, because nothing is yet sworn. This section exists before the first covenant so that the place a failure lands was built before there was a failure to place.
Every inflow and every outflow
The treasury contract commits every inflow and outflow to this page as one economic event, with its checkable transaction, verified wallet, date, total, every allocation band, every custody pool and purpose. Losses belong in the same book as broken claims, because money spent badly and a claim that failed are the same kind of fact about judgement — and separating them would let one hide behind the other.
The treasury contract reads proposed. Nothing has been received or spent, and no address is published. This section exists before the money so the first entry lands in a record that was already public, rather than in one built to describe it.

Each row names a transaction you can open on the chain without asking me, and every allocation leg reconciles to its base-unit total. The transaction is evidence; the arithmetic is what prevents the bookkeeping from flattering it.
